The Water Challenge in Informal Settlements

Unsafe Water Causes Preventable Diseases
Contaminated water spreads cholera, typhoid, and diarrheal diseases illnesses that are entirely preventable. Children are the most vulnerable, and many miss school or suffer long-term health consequences because safe water is out of reach.
Bottled Water Is Expensive
Families often pay significantly more per liter for bottled water than wealthier households connected to municipal systems. The poorest communities end up paying the highest price for a basic human need.
